There are dozens of co-dependent industries and scientific disciplines that contribute to the body of knowledge required to design, develop, conserve, and manage our natural and built environments (some are listed above). From the design of artsy poolside casitas and al-fresco kitchens ... to heavy civil and earth-moving construction projects to support the next downtown super-block or suburban master-planned community ... to the taming and stabilization of a wild river or the delicate restoration of a natural ecosystem--It's easy to get lost in the world of terms associated with these efforts, their contributing disciplines, their unique lexicons, and the industry-specific jargon that lays somewhere in-between. This glossary aims to demystify and explicate this sea of interdisciplinary terminology in a way that is hopefully helpful!
Note: The alphabetized bar above is a comprehensive list that spans all disciplines. Black buttons are obviously discipline-specific. These lists are compiled from a number of sources and should not be considered as "official" industry glossaries. Use them loosely!
Happy reading, researching, and learning!
